SETTING THE TABLE
* Find out about Waves of Resistance
* Learn about the myriad possibilities of becoming involved

COCKTAIL
* Join the Waves of Resistance mobilizing committee! Women in this committee are publicizing the Gathering and recruiting organizers to work BEFORE and DURING the Gathering, including facilitators for the different activities.
* Join different Gathering committees: organizing committee, art committee, content committee, mobilizing committee, promotional tools committee, media committee.
* Conduct phone blitzes of women's and feminist groups in Québec and Canada to mobilize for the event.
* Answer Waves of Resistance e-mail!
* Call around to find volunteer interpreters
* Send promotional tools to groups and young women who ask for them

SOUP
* Go to second-hand clothing stores for 350 recycled T-shirts.
* Join a work party to make Waves of Resistance buttons!
* Help organize interpretation during the Gathering.

FIRST COURSE
* Help put together the feminist conference folder for resistance members.
* Help finalize the website (www.rebelles2008.org) by creating or posting online content and/or participating in the discussion forums.
* Enter participant registration data
* Contact women who have offered to volunteer DURING THE GATHERING to ensure follow-up with them.
* Support the volunteer coordinator in drawing up schedules

TROU NORMAND
* Contact family-based community groups to borrow materials for a daycare corner.
* Make contacts to obtain communications equipment (cell phones, walkie talkies, etc.)
* Contact suppliers and make sponsorship requests for breakfasts and snacks during the Gathering.
* Feminist pâté: plan Gathering meals in collaboration with Gathering organizers.
* Identify participants' special needs based on registration data.
* Organize accommodations for all participants based on registration data.
* Launch an "adopt a feminist!" campaign and get back to activists who volunteer to put up participants in their homes.

MAIN COURSE (PLAT DE RÉSISTANCE)
* Participate in volunteer teams DURING THE GATHERING :
- Help set up all necessary materials for the Gathering on Friday, October 10
- Welcome participants and orient them (registration, accommodations, answer questions, direct them to meeting rooms, etc.)
- Ensure provision of coffee/refreshments/cookies for the duration of the Gathering
- Participate in preparing and serving meals during the gathering
- Ensure provision of French-English and English-French interpretation services
- Help with transport and management of simultaneous interpretation equipment
- Set up and present the Arts corner in the plenary room
- Coordinate and distribute arts and handicrafts materials for the creative resistance actions (banner making, picket signs, etc.)
- Run the daycare
- Facilitate or take minutes at workshops and plenaries
- Deliver first-aid in case of emergencies
- Be a member of the team that will sleep at the CÉGEP Maisonneuve with outside participants
- Prepare the room for the events of Saturday night (screening of feminist documentaries, space for feminist booths and cold supper)
- Assistance for participants who are unfamiliar with big cities and public transport
- Pick up participants who need help at the airport, train or bus stations
- Coordinate and help to set up activist information tables
- Ensure a presence at the "do you want to talk" corner to offer emotional support to participants or meet special needs.
- Be a member of the media and journalist reception team
- Ensure liaison among volunteer teams using cell phones or walkie talkies
- Provide bike assistance in the streets around UQAM during travel between sites

DESSERT
* Participate in organizing and planning the artistic dimension of the Gathering: prepare a show with feminist performers, plan exhibits, plan on-site creation booths, search for feminist documentaries, contacts with feminist artists around Canada, acquire sound equipment, etc.
* Help organize artistic events: coordinate activities, set up exhibits, transportation and set-up equipment for the show or film screenings, help with stage management during the show, ensure that artists' needs are covered, etc.

DIGESTIF
* Help with the post-Gathering clean-up.
* Coordinate clean-up team
* Ensure clean-up throughout the event (empty garbage cans, recover lost objects, clean tables after meals, etc.)

WASHING UP
* Feminist dishwashing: plan for dishwashing during the Gathering.
- Obtain all necessary dishwashing equipment
- Coordinate dish-washing team
